Searching for a drawing prize
I swore that finding a prize for my next drawing wouldn't consume all my time, but somehow, it has. Since a little Cupid charm plays such a large part in my next book, Now You Die, naturally, I wanted to find one of those little charms. Not so easy. A friend gave me a website address where she thinks she saw a golden Cupid with bow and arrow, and I'll go take a look later today because that sounds exactly like what I'm looking for.
If any of you have seen them around, let me know. It shouldn't be more than an inch or so (to fit on a bracelet). I know, it's shameless enlisting the help of friends and fans, but I'm desperate.
I'm looking forward to spending a week at the New Jersey shore and I'm trying to decide whether or not I'll take my manuscript with me. If I manage to do enough pages before I leave, the ms. stays home, otherwise....
By the time I get back, I'll be getting ready for my trip to Phoenix where I'll be speaking, and signing books, at the Waldenbooks District Managers' Meeting. I've never been to one, so I'm really looking forward to it and meeting those terrific booksellers in person. I'm staying in Phoenix three days, not enough time to go see the red rocks in Sedona, but maybe next time.
Then in October I'll be signing books at the Independent Booksellers Association Tradeshow in Atlantic City. I hope to see you many of you there, so stay tune for further news later this fall.
I'll sign out because I want to make some Chicken Parmigiani to take to the shore and I'd like to do it before it gets too hot.
